Original works was formed in the year 2000 as the platform for the creativity of it's founders, Philip Stern and Lisa Hopkins. Under NY Stage Originals (DBA) they created original theatricals such as Scrooge, In Concert (now Humbug), Dream, and the wildly popular Tap Dancing show TAP KIDS, that toured for over a decade. Tap Kids was also an incredibly popular yearly workshop that became life force for many talented young tap dancers, to learn not only about dance, but non-competitive life skills powered by love and respect. It was the brainchild of the founders and lead by Lisa Hopkins for two decades during the touring of the show. Post Coivd, the founders are now pursuing new original thinking.
